Personal Umbrella Insurance

Personal umbrella insurance is a backup liability that takes effect when all other policies have been exhausted. It is designed as an additional safeguard against lawsuits that could otherwise financially ruin a liable property owner.
If an uninsured person is found at fault in a big lawsuit, he or she may have to give up their car, salary, and even their home to afford the awarded payments. Even if he or she has homeowners, auto, and/or watercraft insurance, those policies have liability limits.

With an umbrella insurance policy in place, this person would have additional liability protection of 1-5 million dollars, saving them from giving up their property.
Between medical bills, lost wages, and legal representation, standard liability insurance policies are usually not sufficient to cover the long-term costs of a big accident. Personal umbrella insurance policies are often regarded as a good safety net and they are relatively inexpensive for their added coverage.
